The Italian shipyard Mondomarine launched the project C22-02. Also known as Project M50, the 49.2m superyacht is now called Ipanema.

The semi-displacement yacht, launched at the Savona Shipyard, is the 64th yacht launched by Mondomarine. It is a collaborative work between the shipyard and the Milan-based design studio Hot Lab Yacht & Design. The studio is responsible for both the exterior and interior work.

Ipanema features a light alloy hull and superstructure which also has three decks on board. It is characterised with a steep rake of the stern, which aims to generate a forward visual thrust for the superstructure. The M50 can accommodate 12 guests in four guest cabins and an owner’s suite.

The style of the interior spaces is a combination of the Italian, English and French manufacturing traditions. There are also a number of different marbles on board including onyx, mahogany and briar.

The annual report 2016 indicates Mondomarine has demonstrated a fairly strong five-year fleet performance, with a total LOA of 221.9m. In its current order book, the Italian shipyard has six projects in build, four of which are due to deliver in 2016.
