French yard Couach Yachts has delivered the first hull in its 4400 Fast Fly series of 44.8 metre fast planing superyachts to a repeat client.

Designed by the yards in-house team, the new arrival hit the water in December 2016 and was completed in time for the Mediterranean season. She been described as the little sister of Couach Yachts two largest launches to datethe 49.5 metre La Pellegrina and the 49.3 metre Belongers.

Jean Yves Corvisier, project manager for the Couach 4400 Fast Fly, said: “From a design and decoration point of view, as much as from an innovation and technology point of view, an enormous amount has been achieved.
Fully customised to suit her owners specifications, the first Couach 4400 Fast Fly was built from a composite hull and superstructure, featuring GRP, carbonfibre, Aramat and Kevlar. The interior dcor features engraved glass and marble, treated leathers and metalwork in bronze and copper.

CEO Walter Ceglia added: “The most rewarding element of this project is the quality of finish that we have been able to achieve. We constantly strive to progress, to make each project the best that it can be.”
Key features include a shaded aft deck that provides great views of the ever-changing scenery, while the main saloon features a large sofa and TV area, ideal for enjoying film nights on board.

Accommodation is below decks, with a full-beam owner’s cabin, a double and a convertible twin room, while the side-loading tender garage allows the Couach 4400 Fast Fly to carry a six metre Novurania tender.
Power comes from a pair of 4,185hp MTU 16V4000M93 diesel engines for a top speed of 24 knots, with comfortable cruising at 17 knots.
Other projects currently under development at the French yard include the recently announced Timeless 2600 range, which is being designed in collaboration with Espenino.
